Former Coaching Schooler Nadia Gruny, is making a name for herself in the United States.  According to USA Women’s Cricket News, the Tri-State Lynx appears to showcase a different star on their team each outing.

This past weekend it was Nadia Gruny scoring only the second century (107 not out) in US history by a female player.

Chester, Pa. (March 18, 2011) – Philadelphia Union today announced the signing of midfielders Keon Daniel and Gabriel Farfan and forward Levi Houapeu. Daniel joins the Union from the Puerto Rico Islanders of the North American Soccer League, while Farfan arrives from Mexican First Division team Club America. Houapeu was the Union’s third round selection (41st overall) in the 2011 Major League Soccer SuperDraft. Per MLS and club’s policy, the terms of the deals are not disclosed.

Kareem Yearwood Named to Preseason All-Conference Team

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference men’s soccer coaches have selected College of Charleston as the preseason favorite to win the league crown in 2010. The coaches also named an 11-player preseason all-conference team.

The Cougars, who finished in second place in the conference standings in 2009, are looking to become the sixth different team to claim a SoCon regular season championship in six seasons. CofC picked up five of eight first-place votes and 47 points overall.

“I appreciate the respect we’ve gotten from my fellow coaches in the league,” said head coach Ralph Lundy. “We all know, however, that it comes down to how we play in the games that really matter.”

The Cougars returned seven starters and eight additional letterwinners from last season’s runner-up team and brought on seven newcomers who look to have an impact immediately. Read more

Keon “Schillaci” Daniel Enters New League

photoSources have confirmed, that Caledonia AIA and Puerto Rico Islanders FC have
reached an agreement on the transfer of Trinidad and Tobago international Keon
“Schillaci” Daniel from the TTPro League to the United Soccer League (USL).

Daniel, a native of Lambeau, Tobago and a graduate of the St. Clair Coaching
School will join fellow nationals Nigel Henry and Kendall Jagdeosingh for the
2010 season that commenced on Saturday, April 9th.

Capped 37 times for his country, the T&T international is looking forward with
enthusiasm to the season with his new club. When asked to reflect on his season
with Caledonia AIA, he said “I am grateful for the opportunity that I had with
Caledonia, I cannot begin to tell you how much I have learnt from Coach Jamaal
Shabaaz and his staff during my time at the club. All I can really say, is that I am
thankful for my time there because it provided the foundation for me to embrace
this new opportunity, and I would just like to wish them (Caledonia AIA) all the
best for the upcoming TTPro league season.”

“Last season the PR Islanders finished third in the USL, and I am looking
forward to helping them improve that position this season. I am also looking
forward to helping them qualify for CONCACF Champions League (CCL) via
the CFU tournament”, the possibility of playing CCL was a major attraction for
Daniel.

“I am walking into this opportunity prepared to work hard every day to give my
best for PR Islanders.”
