Both Gregory Khan and Keon Yearwood remained on target and scored a goal each this week as both of their teams took to the road.
Kareem Yearwood scored one of two goals as the College of Charleston handed Liberty its first loss of the season downing the Flames, 2-0, in Friday afternoon’s (14th September) opening contest of the UNCW/Jameson Inn Classic at the UNCW Soccer Stadium.
College of Charleston, ranked sixth in the latest South region poll, improved to 5-0-0 on the season. The Flames, ranked 10th in the South-Atlantic region, fell to 3-1-0.
By contrast, while sophomore forward Gregory Khan scored a late goal for the Shepherd University Rams at the 79th minute, it was not enough to prevent the Rams going down 3-1 to Alderson-Broaddus (12th September).
Shepherd falls to 2-3 overall, 1-2 in conference play. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to Salem International for a 1 p.m. contest.
