Gregory Khan Scores Hat-trick In The Ram’s Season Opener

Former Coaching Schooler and Shepherd University Sophomore forward Gregory Khan (Mt. Pleasant, Tobago) scored three goals to help lead Rams to a 5-1 win over Kutztown University to make Shepherd head coach Jonathan Thayil’s debut a successful one in men’s soccer action at Shepherd on Wednesday.
Junior midfielder/forward Duncan Williams gave the Rams a 1-0 lead when he scored at the 40:00 mark. The Rams then took a 2-0 lead into the break when Khan scored at the 42:00 mark with an assist from senior midfielder Leighton Meredith.
Khan added a pair of second tallies with both assists coming from sophomore defender Pat Norfolk (Olney, MD/Sherwood) to up the Ram advantage to 4-0.
James Robinson scored with an assist from Bill Frosoni for the Golden Bears to cut the lead to 4-1 at the 75:00 mark, while Meredith closed out the scoring for the Rams when he connected on a penalty kick at the 78:00 mark.
