About
St. Clair’s Coaching School is a non-profit organization that was established in 1976 by Coach Bertille St. Clair. For more than 30 years, the organization has sustained a reputation that has become synonymous with youth excellence, keen sportsmanship and scholastic excellence. Our watchwords, “discipline, dedication, and cooperation” facilitate as both the premise for the organization’s operations and the overall attitude of its membership.
The professional and tenacious caliber of the students associated with the Coaching School is well known throughout the country and internationally. Former students like Dwight Yorke, Colvin Hutchinson, Wendell Moore, Richard Goddard and so many others, who have all made significant strides in the international community, are evidentiary of the school’s reputation and the man after which it is named
The organization also has been a consistent avenue for young players to find athletic scholarships in colleges and universities across the United States. Since the 1980s, more than 150 members have been able to attain tertiary-level education; many have become medical doctors, engineers and information architects, to name just a few. Moreover, many have returned to Trinidad and Tobago, and continue to serve the organization, the community and the country, in various capacities.
In an attempt to continue empowering youth through sports, the organization is in the process of expanding and developing our own training and playing fields. The programme curriculum currently involves instruction in football and cricket to members from as young as 5-years-old. Overall, the school boasts an active membership of almost 300.
